Indisposed

Blue and green ectoplasm

I’m sorry, there will be no dazzlingly witty or useful article this morning because my head is full of snot.  Some unknown hand has filled my sinus cavities with ectoplasm and applied pliers to the back of my eyes.  I shall have a hot bath full of pungent and efficacious herbs, some thyme tea, some Olbas Oil on my chest and a warm bed and I will be back with you tomorrow.

Atchoo.

Wasabi beans (roasted soybeans coated with wasabi) always do the trick for me WH. Available at Tesco in the ‘wholesome snacks’ section.

    Get better soon.

You women – the tiniest snuffle and it’s off to bed. Think yourself lucky you don’t have a full-blown Man Cold.

Sue – I like your thinking, I’ll have a go at that

Affer – I am indeed grateful that I don’t have to deal with the horrors of man colds.

  4. I find a stack of corned beef sandwiches washed down with a bottle of Baillie Nicol Jarvie does the trick. Get fighting fit soon WH.

  5. Ahhh, the snot fairy waves her magic wand…

Sadly I can offer no palliative suggestions.

But every cloud has a silver lining.
Amuse your boys by doing an impersonation of how an elephant speaks when it has a knot in it’s trunk.

The impersonation can by aided by joining two hot water bottles together with string and draping them over your head so they look like ears.

    Get well soon.

Top Tip OSM, the only problem is that both my hot water bottle have little fluffy animal covers on, so I just looked like a nutter with a runny nose. No change there then.

Feel better soon. I find that hot herbal teas with honey soothe the throat and help me breathe a little easier. Other than that, time is the only remedy to the common cold, I’m sorry to say.

Sorry to hear that you’re feeling seedy. I would recommend mashed potato mixed with grated cheese, a soft-poached egg or two, and black pepper to taste. Chase it down with a reasonable slug of cooking brandy, and retire to sleep.
Hope you’re on the mend soon.

    Thanks everyone. I’m rallying bravely.
